You have been detained by the police
The police have 48 hours, during which they will decide whether to hand you over to the court for a ruling on custody, or release you. We are by your side from the first interrogation.
We defend clients during detention, interrogation, charges, in custody, and before the court. We answer the phone around the clock — in criminal proceedings, every hour from the first contact with the police counts.
In each of these situations, you have the right to defense counsel from the very first minute. The sooner you call us, the more we can do for your defense.
The police have 48 hours, during which they will decide whether to hand you over to the court for a ruling on custody, or release you. We are by your side from the first interrogation.
What you say before the interrogation, and how you say it, is decisive. We will prepare you and go with you.
The case file must be studied in detail. We look for ways to have the charges dismissed, identify procedural errors, and explore options for diversion of the proceedings.
Visits, requests for release from custody, communication with the court — we take care of everything.
We take over the defense at any stage of the proceedings — from the preliminary proceedings all the way to appeal or appellate review.
We will prepare a defense strategy and submit motions to the court for taking evidence at the main hearing (summoning witnesses for examination and other evidence). We will handle the main hearing together.
In each of these situations, one rule applies — do not answer without a lawyer. You have the right to remain silent until we arrive. Call us at +421 911 133 101.
Four clear steps from the first phone call to the verdict. No surprises, no unnecessary actions.
We answer. We listen. We assess the urgency and advise you on the first steps while still on the call.
We go over the evidence, the timeline, the risks, and the options. You get a realistic picture of where you stand.
We prepare an approach tailored to your case — including any possible diversions, so that the criminal matter turns out as favorably as possible for you.
We are with you during interrogation, custody decisions, and before the court. All the way to a final and binding court ruling.
We specialize in criminal law, where we strive to help clients get through the process with a successful outcome.
No slogans. Four concrete reasons that show from the very first call.
Criminal prosecution doesn’t wait for Monday morning. A detention, a late-night interrogation, or a weekend house search — we always answer the phone, including weekends and holidays.
We specialize in criminal law, which we work with day in and day out, striving to go in depth in our defense and to provide the best possible solution.
We have worked for years within the courts of the Bratislava Region and with the law enforcement authorities. We know the procedural customs, the local specifics, and what actually works at each stage of the proceedings.
Protected by the Act on the Legal Profession. What you tell us reaches neither the court, nor your family, nor anyone else.
We set the defense fee after assessing the scope and complexity of the case — always transparently and agreed in advance. No hidden fees.
For more complex cases, we offer a flat fee for the entire proceedings, so you know what to expect.
The call is confidential and protected by attorney-client privilege.
You have the right to remain silent and the right to a lawyer. Use both. Don’t sign anything until we arrive — not a record of the proceedings, nor a so-called “explanation.” The police must allow you to call your defense counsel; if you have our number, call us or have a close person call.
If you have been detained on suspicion of committing a criminal offense, you have 48 hours during which the next steps are decided. This window is where the most can be influenced — which is why it is important to have defense counsel from the very first minute.
Yes. As the accused, you have the right to refuse to testify, and this right cannot be interpreted to your detriment. We always recommend not testifying before you consult with defense counsel and have seen the case file. Any “spontaneous explanation” can later be used against you.
So-called mandatory defense is required by law, for example in cases of custody, for offenses carrying a maximum sentence of at least 10 years, for juveniles, and in other cases explicitly listed by law. In other cases, defense counsel need not be present at the interrogation — but almost always should be. Without defense counsel, mistakes are made that are later difficult to correct.
The question “how much does a criminal defense lawyer cost” is legitimate and almost always the first one. A lawyer’s fee is determined under the decree on the fees and reimbursements of lawyers for the provision of legal services (Decree of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic No. 655/2004 Coll.) — which sets out the ways in which a fee can be agreed.
We will determine the final price in person — we always agree on it with you in writing and in advance, with no hidden fees.
Look at three things. First, specialization — criminal law is so procedurally complex that a defense lawyer who handles it as one of ten practice areas does not have as much experience as someone who works on it daily. Second, availability — when a client calls or otherwise contacts the lawyer. Third, experience with the local courts — they have their own specifics that can only be learned through practice.
It depends on the complexity of the matter. Simpler cases can be concluded within a few months. Standard proceedings before a district court typically take 1–2 years, and for more complex matters even 3+ years, including appeals. At the first consultation, we will give you a realistic estimate for your case.
Yes, you have the right to choose your defense counsel at any time during the proceedings. It is enough to revoke the power of attorney granted to the original lawyer and grant a new one. We routinely take over cases even at an advanced stage — including appeal proceedings.
Yes. The phone line +421 911 133 101 is available 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Detentions most often happen at night or over the weekend — and that is precisely when the availability of defense counsel is crucial.
